Red Bear Theatre
Red Bear Theatre was established in 2021. We are an amateur theatre group located in Temora, NSW. Red Bear Theatre is passionate about engaging young people in theatre and creative arts. Our goal is to create opportunities for local actors and crew to be part of a quality stage production team with strong links to local business, local council and the local community.
The creative driving force behind Red Bear Theatre is Ben Rayner. Ben is 18 years old and completed his HSC in 2020 at Temora High School. Over the years, Ben has also been involved in Temora High School cabaret shows and Temora Motion Arts productions. Ben is the mentor for Culture and Performing Arts group at Platform Y, working with very young children to nurture and develop drama skills. Ben will commence a Performing Arts degree at Wollongong University in 2022 and hopes to become a Drama Teacher. Earlier this year, Ben was part of the acclaimed “Henry V” production in Leeton by Kensington Productions and the Roxy Theatre. This was an incredible experience that provided the inspiration for Ben to follow on with establishing his own production company in Temora.
“One of the main reasons why I set up Red Bear Theatre is that I really want to approach theatre in a new way for Temora. I’m looking to create a learning space for people to develop and refine their performance skills. It’s about offering opportunities for people to experience a structured, educational, creative process. We want to collaborate with a broader spectrum of the community and get local businesses on board to better utilise their skillsets as designers, builders, caterers, hairdressers, makeup artists etc and create something unique that Temora can be very proud of”.
